Entry#6 Mindset
Today's topic is mindset. Isn't it crazy how the mindset affects how you view things? Like if you have a positive mindset you tend to be happier, optimistic, and determined. On the contrary, when you have a negative mindset you have a negative attitude, no goals, and blame others. Growing up I would describe myself as someone who was a positive person, now I would say I go with the flow and let things be. However, in my life, I've noticed and reflected on the times I had a negative mindset. For instance, learning how to drive was difficult for me mainly because I was scared, and my dad would make me anxious. He would yell at me and be very impatient. Sometimes I would feel discouraged and believed I wouldn't be able to drive and get my license. However, it took me a while to get comfortable and go through trial and error. Obviously, I learned I just needed to believe in myself and relax. I changed my negative scared thoughts into wanting to learn how to drive and getting rid of my fear through my mindset. I learned I needed to stop being afraid and not think about negative thoughts. Overall, in my life having a positive mindset has always been influenced. My dad has influenced us to think we can, and everything is just in our heads. My dad is a perfect example of having a positive mindset because he is someone who is determined and acts on it to make it happen. Remember if you are determined, you can achieve it.
