 Today's topic is hashtags. Hashtags are seen and used all over social media, but what are they? Hashtags are used to categorize tweets to easily locate a topic or theme. For instance, if you go on Twitter or Instagram and search for #earthday all the tweets using the same hashtag will show up. Hashtags are very popular on social media as many people use them. They can help bring awareness to important topics. A popular hashtag was the Black Lives Matter movement or a trending one at the moment is justice for Johnny (referring to Johnny Depp). Hashtags have no formal use as you can use them in a creative manner or expressive manner. They can also be used to advertise products; small businesses use this technique to promote their products. You'll usually see them using some of the hashtags below👇
